Sheboygan North senior Sydney Vogel recently signed her national letter of intent to play basketball at UW-Platteville next season.
“They just have a really good program to start with,” she said. “And I like the way that they run things.”
To no surprise, Jacob Ognacevic was tabbed the Big East Conference boys basketball player of the year for the second consecutive season.
Around the same time the all-league team was recently announced, the Sheboygan Lutheran senior was also selected to the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association’s Division 5 all-state team.
Three girls from Sheboygan made all-conference basketball teams, including South’s Halle Boldt, who set a school record earlier this season.
The junior made all-Fox River Classic honorable mention thanks to a team-best 10.1 points per game and 2.3 assists per outing.

SHEBOYGAN — The county became the latest governmental body to officially declare a state of emergency in regards to the coronavirus.
The County Board Tuesday unanimously approved a resolution declaring the state, after hearing an update from Health and Human Services Department personnel on the coronavirus situation in the county.
Because of the COVID-19, voters are strongly urged to act now to vote absentee for the April 7 Spring Election and Presidential Preference Primary.
“Polls will be open in Sheboygan County for those who need them on Election Day, but many voters may choose to vote absentee for this election,” said County Clerk Jon Dolson. “For that to happen, you should request an absentee ballot from your municipal clerk, as soon as possible.”

Lakes Superior, Michigan, Huron, and Erie set new monthly records for February 2020. The records were previously set on lakes Superior, Michigan and Huron in 1986, and in 1987 on Lake Erie.
