Winning the first two or three games of the basketball season is not unusual.
But it’s been awhile since it’s happened at Sheboygan South – until now.
The girls started 3-0 for the first time in 12 years and the last time the boys were 2-0 (entering play Friday) was in 2008-09.
Megan Glewen, Molly Peterson and Mike Scheele are not bothered.
The Sheboygan Lutheran girls basketball players and their coach know the Crusaders’ boys team deserves all of the headlines.
After all, they did win a state championship last year and are currently the top-ranked Division 5 team in Wisconsin.

The Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association is expressing its support of a sponsored bill in the legislature that would make it a Class A misdemeanor to harass or intimidate a sports official in response to action taken or with intent to influence a referee, umpire, judge or anyone serving similar functions.
Jake Marver is the third-leading scorer and rebounder on the Sheboygan South basketball team, and the senior forward plans on probably attending UW-Oshkosh or St. Cloud State for some type of sports management education.

Following an investigation, police say a married Sheboygan couple were arrested and charged for having pounds of marijuana at their home.
According to court records, police found more than 8 pounds of marijuana, 21 illegal vaping cartridges and dozens of marijuana edibles inside the home of Alisa Sapino and Vincente Sapino, both 26.
At two back-to-back meetings on December 9, the Kohler Board of Education reviewed a range of recent school activities both celebrating the district attaining the top ranking in the state and expressing gratitude to teachers.
