I can still remember the first time I went to Bing Drewry’s farm to help him harvest sweet corn. It was more than a decade ago, when I was a young farmer and Bing was an old man living on the Drewry homestead down on Winooski Road. He was a nice neighbor who I was just getting acquainted with, and our shared love of growing vegetables led us to become good friends in his last years of life.

Bergstrom overcomes injury to get all-league
Haley Bergstrom earned all-conference again, but the North softball player had a harder time repeating. She suffered a major injury over the summer and lost about five months of training, but led the team both on and off the field.
WIAA allows shot clocks in non-conference games
The WIAA Board of Control approved limited use of the shot clock in basketball games next season at the Winter Coaches Advisory Committees affecting season regulations and membership policies at its June meeting on Monday.
Freedom Cry expands human trafficking response
About 12 years ago, a group of concerned parents in the area met at a coffee shop to discuss how to keep their children safe from human trafficking. In 2017 it evolved into a volunteer-based nonprofit called Freedom Cry, which recently opened its first office at 124 East Mill Street in Plymouth.
