First county deer disease reported
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has confirmed that a wild deer tested positive for chronic wasting disease in Plymouth township in Sheboygan County.
The CWD-positive deer was an adult doe harvested during the 2019 archery deer season and was tested as a part of the DNR’s disease surveillance efforts.
Couple charged with drug trafficking
Following an investigation, police say a married Sheboygan couple were arrested and charged for having pounds of marijuana at their home.
According to court records, police found more than 8 pounds of marijuana, 21 illegal vaping cartridges and dozens of marijuana edibles inside the home of Alisa Sapino and Vincente Sapino, both 26.

SEAS looks to develop program with local high school
A high school and local maritime organization are looking to combine forces.
According to Sailing Education Association of Sheboygan (SEAS) Executive Director Geoff Rudolph, his nonprofit is interested in hosting programs for engineering students at Etude High School. It’s all part of SEAS’s core mission of expanding maritime education and waterfront opportunities for everyone, Rudolph said.
8th St. bridge open
The 8th St. bridge is now open to traffic after having been closed for repairs to an underground electric feeder on Nov. 19.
