The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region announces construction for the State 23 expansion project in Sheboygan County resumes Monday, Apr. 6.
This is continuation of 2019 work to complete grading for the additional lanes of travel from the Sheboygan/Fond du Lac County line (Division Road) in the town of Greenbush to County P in the town of Plymouth.
State 23 will remain open for travel on the existing lanes.
Following completion of grading this summer, crews will begin to place pavement for the additional lanes.
Work in 2020 also includes constructing an eastbound structure over the Ice Age Trail, construction of culverts and inlets, and completion of a wetland mitigation site.
The Sheboygan County portion of the expansion project is scheduled for completion by mid-2021.
This work is part of the four-lane, on-alignment expansion project scheduled for 2019-2022 in Sheboygan and Fond du Lac counties.
