2020 schedule released for Road America

The 2020 schedule for Road America was released earlier this week, and there will be 11 race weekends next season including the return of the SCCA National Championship Runoffs.

The first race weekend – Spring Vintage Festival featuring SVRA – will be May 15-17.

Two-wheeled action takes to the track when the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship Series is held May 29-31.

The WeatherTech Chicago Region SCCA June Sprints returns June 12-14, followed by the NTT IndyCar Series REV Group Grand Prix is June 18-21.

On July 17-19, the Vintage MotoFest featuring AHRMA and Rockerbox will be held.

The WeatherTech International Challenge with Brian Redman takes place July 23-26.

The IMSA WeatherTech® SportsCar Championship and IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge is set for July 30-Aug. 2.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series Henry 180 will be held Aug. 6-8. On Aug. 28-30, the GT World Challenge returns.

The Ariens Art on Wheels Weekend featuring VSCDA runs Sept. 18-20.

And the 57th SCCA National Championship Runoffs return to Road America on Oct. 9-11 for the first time since 2013. The SCCA is one of the cornerstones of Road America’s history and has evolved into what is now commonly agreed to be the pinnacle of American motorsports. Since 1964, the SCCA has crowned National Champions through the winner-take-all, single race runoffs format.

New chairman: Road America’s Board of Directors appointed Ron Pace as its new chairman.

Pace, who will serve as chairmen elect until Jan. 1, has served on the board since 2005. He replaces Jonathan Laun, who is going to be the new treasurer.
