At age 93, Ed Schmitt has done and seen a lot of things during his life. A longtime resident of Cleveland, WI, Ed owned and operated Lakeshore Metals for 45 years, is a devoted husband of 58 years to his bride, Joan, and a loving father to nine children. The stories in his life are rich.

Toutenhoofd wins state award for phy ed
Depending on your age, some gym classes ranged from dodgeball to what felt like just an extra recess.

Michael, Girdaukas among league’s best
Five Kohler/Lutheran/Christian football players made all-conference, including two with some impressive stats.

State cross country goes on without Lutheran

Man found guilty of 2017 killing
Oostburg resident Sergio Ochoa, 43, has been found guilty in the 2017 killing of his cousin and his cousin’s friend.
According to court records, a jury found Ochoa guilty on two counts of first-degree reckless homicide. Those charges were amended from first-degree intentional homicide on Oct. 29, which was the seventeenth and final day of trial.
Pair charged for three bank robberies
