Calling all baseball players

North is hosting a four-day summer baseball camp June 13-16.

Golden Raiders coach Steve Goes will direct the program in conjunction with U.S. Baseball Academy.

The four-day skills camp will feature instruction during the morning, with a focus on hitting and defense. The afternoon session will focus on situational baseball games, competition drills, and a Wiffle Ball World Series.

Space is limited and registration is now under way. For more information, visit www.USBaseballAcademy.com, or call (866) 622-4487.

Honor for Whipple

UW-Whitewater’s Kelly Whipple, a South graduate, was one of two Warhawks recognized with awards by the National Tenpin Coaches Association following their performances during the past bowling season.

She is the Division III Rookie of the Year – teammate Caitlin Mertins is the player of the year – and both helped the nationally-ranked Warhawks to a 49-45 record with runner-up finishes at a pair of NCAA-sanctioned tournaments during the season.

Whipple also garnered second-team all-rookie accolades.
