Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) Secretary Joel Brennan has presented $70,000 in coastal grants to the City of Sheboygan and the Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission (RPC).
As part of the grant presentation, Secretary Brennan and Sheboygan Mayor Ryan J. Sorenson visited the accessible boat launch at the Kiwanis Park to showcase how funding from the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program (WCMP) advances outdoor recreation, equity and accessibility, shoreline restoration, and resource planning across Wisconsin. The visit highlighted the efforts of local and state government to enhance accessibility to outdoor recreation opportunities and create stronger and more resilient communities.
“Our goal is to balance the protection of our Great Lakes natural resources while supporting sustainable economic development,” said Brennan. “We are proud to work with the City of Sheboygan and the Bay-Lake Regional Planning Commission to preserve our natural resources, so they can be enjoyed by Wisconsinites and visitors in the years to come.”
