Plan is to travel, watch his children play athletics
North volleyball coach Chad Kuck has resigned, and part of the reason is because of the pandemic.
“I never have time off,” he said. “There’s usually two weeks off a year between coaching high school and club. When COVID hit, I found out how much fun it is to travel and do stuff.”
Kuck, who also coaches the Milwaukee Sting, also wants to watch his daughter (Dru) play volleyball at Kansas State and his son (Kyle) compete on the high school football team.
He has been in the Golden Raiders program for 13 years, including the last four as head coach.
“I don’t want to leave 100%,” Kuck said. “I’m still running the summer league until they find someone. I love to be a part of it, but to do the high school thing the right way – the way we changed the program from 13 years ago when North would win maybe four matches a season to right now always battling for a conference championship – it’s a year-round job. You’ve got to stay on top of everything.”
