HIGH SCHOOL NOTES
North volleyball player Lizzie Binder earned second-team all-state for the alternate fall season.
The senior, who was selected by the Wisconsin Volleyball Coaches Association and is her school’s all-time leader in kills, will play for Cal State Bakersfield next season.
GOLF
North rules the county
The Golden Raider boys claimed the 11-team Sheboygan County Invitational with by 24 strokes and also featured the medalist in Hogan Miller, who fired a 77 May 5 at Meadow Valleys.
North had four of the top six golfers, which included Mason Schmidtke (78), Evan Spaulding (84) and Nate Hamann (84).
South’s Nic Kolar took third with an 82 and helped the Redwings tie Lutheran for sixth place.
The top golfer for the Crusaders was Andrew Meador (89).
Christian, which took eighth, was led by Josiah Stecker (92).

Regional, sectional results
South junior Rylee Brotz To get to state this year, she finished 13th in the Whitewater Sectional.
Senior teammate Greta Thoresen was second on the squad, good for 34th, and was followed by senior Hannah Braatz, sophomore Sophia Kiesow and senior Ella Gerstner for the sixth-place Redwings.
The boys top runner was junior Alex Kaffine, who came in 20th.
He was ahead of junior Lucas Scharenbroch, sophomore Lawrence Weidig, freshman Preston Miller and freshman Peter Gerrits.
North results: Junior Ben Crouse led the boys to a fourth-place showing at Whitewater by taking 17th place.
He was followed by junior Thaddeus Zenk, junior Elliot Opel, freshman Drew Thomas, junior Trent Stuefen, junior Daniel Fuentez and sophomore Dylan Dettloff.
The girls, who had only four runners, were led by junior Riley Swedburg’s 30th-place finish.
Sophomore Sanya Muikanovic was 35th, ahead of junior Aileen Zenk and sophomore Hannah Pfister.
