Brooklynn Wiltzius knew right away.

The Sheboygan South junior announced she will play soccer at Northern Michigan, although there was some interest in IUPUI and Jacksonville.

But when Wiltzius visited NMU about 10 days ago, she “just fell in love” with the place.

“I went up there, saw the campus and it felt like home,” Wiltzius said. “It had a lot of the style like downtown Sheboygan, it was very outdoorsy, the people were very welcoming and I fell in love with the soccer team when I met them as well. And the coaches, they were amazing and super friendly.

“And honestly, it just felt like home up there.”

Wiltzius spent her freshman year on varsity and played on a club team last spring when high school sports were cancelled.

“I’m so excited to get back out on the field,” she said.
