Glad to be back

Megan Moeller: A senior, she was tops in scoring (8.3) a year ago.

Maddie Zylstra: The junior led in rebounding (7.3) and was fifth in scoring (7.1).

Grace VanEss: This junior almost led in scoring 8.1).

Olivia Heinen: Another senior, she was second in rebounding (6.9) and third in scoring (7.6).

Elie Steenwyk: This senior was third in rebounding (6.1) and scoring (7.6).

LUTHERAN

Last year: 6-11, 9-15 overall

Lowdown

  • The two Crusaders who made all-conference graduated last year.
  • The top-three scorers have to be replaced as well.
  • There are four seniors on the team, which consists of a young roster.

Glad to be back

Hailey Schimberg: The sophomore is the team’s top returning scorer (4.0) but injured her knee and has an MRI this week.

Tough to replace

Katelyn Witte: She earned second-team all-BEC last season.

Emma Egbert: And she received all-league honorable mention.

NORTH

Last year: 6-12, 9-14 overall

Lowdown

  • Keith Conway is the new coach.
  • Ten straight seasons with a winning record ended last year.
  • The top-two scorers have to be replaced after combining to average 26.5 ppg

Glad to be back

Sydney Vogel: The senior is the top returning scorer (6.7) and ranked third last year.

Hannah Martin: The junior finished fourth in scoring (5.2).

Emma Belmore: This junior was almost fourth in scoring (5.1).

Tough to replace

Meredith Opie: She led the team in scoring (14.5).

Julia Scharinger: She was second in scoring (12.0).

SOUTH

Last year: 1-16, 1-21 overall

Lowdown

  • The new coach is Ellyn Hansen.
  • Five of the top-six scorers are back, including the first three three.
  • The team has won a total of two league games the last three seasons.

Glad to be back

Halle Boldt: The junior led her squad in scoring (7.9) and field goals (55).

Lindsey Horen: The senior finished first in rebounding (6.8) and second in scoring (5.6).

Dina Bushi: This junior was third in scoring (4.7) and first in three-pointers (28).

Tough to replace

Amy Pfile: She was second in rebounding; fourth in scoring.
