Children’s Museum hosts adult-only fund raiser

Above & Beyond Children’s Museum of Sheboygan will host its 4th annual adults-only fundraiser Tastefully Childish on Friday, September 27 at 6 p.m.

The museum comes to life as guests delight in interactive exhibits, hands-on activities, raffles, silent auction, face painting, scavenger hunt, live entertainment, and festive music.

Attendees explore experiential food and beverage stations hosted by local restaurants, resorts, sweeteries, wineries, and breweries featuring childhood food favorites with a mature culinary twist.

All will be entertained by Mischief & Magic Entertainment of Green Bay featuring a fire performer, magician and balloon twister and live music from Sheboygan’s own The IC4 Band and musician Aaron Schwoerer.

Tastefully Childish is a yearly celebration and showcase of the museum’s new and time-honored favorite exhibits, programming and projects. This year’s highlighted exhibit is the Toddler Room that recently re-opened in Spring 2019 – The Melitta S. and Joan M. Pick Toddler Barnyard. The new space located on the second floor features multi-level barn play-structure and slide, toys that encourage development of children ages 0-4 in the areas of gross motor, fine motor and cognitive skills, a private nursing area, and a remodeled family bathroom sponsored by Sheboygan Service Club.

Fall programming is set to begin on September 18 with the introduction of “First Steps in Music”, a rhythm and music class, led by Executive Director of Above & Beyond Children’s Museum Emily Rendall-Araujo.

“First Steps in Music” sessions are available for children ages 0-2 and their parents and for children ages 3-4. Rendall-Araujo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music-Voice Performance & Pedagogy and will share her love of music and classical training with the museum’s youngest visitors and their families. On Thursday afternoons will be the return of the Museum of Science & Industry “Science Minors Club” for children ages 6-10 sponsored by Kohler Co.

“STEAM Story Time” will be hosted on Friday mornings for children ages 2-4 and their parents sponsored by the Kohler Foundation. For additional information and complete schedule visit
