Tastefully Childish is a yearly celebration and showcase of the museum’s new and time-honored favorite exhibits, programming and projects. This year’s highlighted exhibit is the Toddler Room that recently re-opened in Spring 2019 – The Melitta S. and Joan M. Pick Toddler Barnyard. The new space located on the second floor features multi-level barn play-structure and slide, toys that encourage development of children ages 0-4 in the areas of gross motor, fine motor and cognitive skills, a private nursing area, and a remodeled family bathroom sponsored by Sheboygan Service Club.
Fall programming is set to begin on September 18 with the introduction of “First Steps in Music”, a rhythm and music class, led by Executive Director of Above & Beyond Children’s Museum Emily Rendall-Araujo.
“First Steps in Music” sessions are available for children ages 0-2 and their parents and for children ages 3-4. Rendall-Araujo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music-Voice Performance & Pedagogy and will share her love of music and classical training with the museum’s youngest visitors and their families. On Thursday afternoons will be the return of the Museum of Science & Industry “Science Minors Club” for children ages 6-10 sponsored by Kohler Co.
“STEAM Story Time” will be hosted on Friday mornings for children ages 2-4 and their parents sponsored by the Kohler Foundation. For additional information and complete schedule visit abkids.org.
As Above & Beyond Children’s Museum’s annual signature fundraiser, Tastefully Childish works to earn funding to support the operations, programming, enhancements, and expansion of the museum and its offerings to excel as a special place for children and their families where play and education connect through exploration and discovery.
This festive adults-only evening celebration supports the children’s museum through ticket sales, sponsorships, raffles, and donations.
The community is invited to support the Tastefully Childish fundraiser through a variety of sponsorship opportunities and by providing donations for the raffle and silent auction.
