A’s rebound from losses

A sign of a good team is avoiding losing streaks.

Entering play this past weekend, the Sheboygan A’s have not lost more than two consecutive games all summer.

Four times the squad has lost back-to-back outings this year only to win the next game.

The A’s suffered losses to Menasha and Appleton on July 22 and 23, but rallied for a 10-7 win over De Pere on Wednesday.

Fukuhara moving on: Taisei Fukuhara, who joined Sheboygan about two weeks ago, signed with the WindyCity Thunderbolts of the Frontier League.

Milwaukee Brewers’ scouts were in Sheboygan to watch Fukuhara play, as he hit .455 and stole four bases in three games.

Eliminated from first: Sheboygan’s 17-8 loss to Appleton ensured the A’s would not take first place in the NEWBL. Losses of several league franchises in recent years left the NEWBL with just three other teams this year.
