Within two decades after the 1892 arrival of the first Volga Germans in Sheboygan, this group of ethnic German immigrants from the Volga River area of Russia was making an impact on many aspects of city life – and baseball was no exception.

Lutheran’s golf team won the Big East Conference championship for the second straight time, and North’s Ryder Miller claimed the Fox River Classic Conference title.

The soccer playoffs start today in Division 1, as seventh-seeded North hosts no. 10 Hartford at 7 p.m.
The winner, barring a major upset, will face second-seeded Arrowhead (ranked third in the final state poll).
‘Ed the Diver’ retrieves 251 golf discs from quarry
Brandon Ray Watson is one of many who have misplayed golf discs into the Sheboygan Quarry.
So the founder and president of Sheboygan Eagles Disc Golf Club turned to Ed Bieber – also known as Ed the Diver, to find as many as he could in early May.
Federal funding withdrawn from Kohler Arts Center
Already-pledged federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts for John Michael Kohler Arts Center has been withdrawn, a May 28 email message from JMKAC Executive Director Amy Horst said.
