North wins state championship in golf Tuesday night

Sheboygan North’s boys golf team just won the Division 1 state championship this evening, picking up its third title in school history and first since 1992 (the other was ’86).

The Golden Raiders, who took fourth last year, finished eight strokes ahead of runner-up Eau Claire Memorial in the 16-team event at Blackwolf Run – Meadow Valley.

Mason Schmidtke tied for third and was three strokes behind medalist Parker Etzel of Eau Claire Memorial.

Hogan Miller finished sixth, Roberto Reyes came in 11th, Brandon Bloechel placed 27th and Ryder Miller ended 57th.

  1. In 1974 North went to state on the heels of Jeff Staff and Mike and Kevin Nikodem. Just FYI.
