Four play in all-star games

Lutheran’s Rose Hahn scored 17 points to lead the South to a 68-51 victory over the North in the Division 5 All-Star Game put on by the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association on June 29 in the Wisconsin Dells.

“I was just having fun, and our team was really pushing the pace,” Hahn said. “I didn’t really think about it at the time, but at the end of the game, I thought it was pretty cool.”

Only four other girls – in all five divisions – had more points than Hahn, who had 12 of them in the second half.

She will play at St. Norbert College next season.

“It feels good get to play in college, but it was nice to play one more game – even though I thought I already had my last high school game,” Hahn said.

Teammates no more

Lutheran graduates Casey Verhagen and Robby Michael faced one another in the Division 4 game.

Verhagen represented the White team and finished with 30 points – more than any other boy regardless of division – but Michael, who had 15, helped his Red team win, 99-96.

Modahl also plays

Christian’s Michael Modahl tallied 22 points to lead his Red team to a 99-88 victory over the White in the Division 5 contest. His total ranked fifth on the day.
