Jarrod Fenner, a 21-year veteran deputy with the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department who is running for sheriff, has resigned his position effective July 1, 2022. Fenner told The Beacon he plans to continue his campaign for sheriff.
His resignation follows the conclusion of an internal investigation which found that Fenner filed reports on his patrol activities for certain Sheboygan County villages that “contained factually inaccurate and untrue documentation.”
The investigation was conducted by the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office (FDLSO) due to Sheboygan County Sheriff Cory Roeseler having a conflict of interest. In a letter to Sheboygan County Administrator Adam Payne, FDLSO Chief Deputy Kevin Galske concluded that due to the untruthful reports Fenner would no longer be able to perform an essential job function and provided the recommendation that “our Office would be terminating employment for this reason.”
Dennis Miller, Director of Human Resources for Sheboygan County confirmed to The Beacon that “Mr. Fenner has resigned in lieu of termination effective July 1, 2022.”
