THREE MAKE ALL-STATE

Casey Verhagen and Michael Modahl finished their high school careers by making the Associated Press and Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association all-state teams.

Verhagen, a senior at Lutheran who will play at Northern Michigan, made fourth-team all-state by the AP (which includes all boys regardless of division) and the WBCA’s Division 4 squad.

Modahl made WBCA all-state in Division 5 and earned honorable mention by the AP.

Lutheran’s Elijah White, another senior, received honorable mention on the WBCA team.

SOFIA COACHING GOLF

Tony Sofia was looking for some sports opportunities on Indeed.com, and the 2013 Sheboygan North graduate is now the boys tennis coach at Howards Grove as a result.

Sofia, who recently moved to Howards Grove, says seven players return from last season.
