Eagles beat rival Oostburg in shootout, 5-4

Christian has two state soccer championships and Lutheran has one.

On Saturday, Christian and Lutheran picked up their first title as a co-op as a result of a 5-4 shootout victory over Oostburg in the Division 4 game in Milwaukee.

After the teams failed to score in both overtime sessions, the Flying Dutchmen jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the shootout.

Caleb Hendrikse was able to score for SCL, but Oostburg got the goal back for a 3-1 advantage.

The Eagles got the next two goals, however, compliments of Bobby Moeller and Nate Alsum.

The teams traded goals again, with Lutheran/Christian getting its from Kory Hendricks.

After Oostburg missed, Tony Schmitz scored to give the Eagles their 5-4 win in their second state tournament and first since 2016.
