Robby Michael owns another state record.
The Kohler/Christian/Lutheran senior quarterback threw his 93rd touchdown pass in a first-round playoff victory over Sheboygan Falls Oct. 22 to surpass the previous mark of 92 set by Franklin’s Ben Hempel from 2002-04.
“It was an awesome experience,” coach Ryan Eigenberger said. “It’s just great for the whole team, the whole program. He’s worked so hard over these years, so he’s very deserving of it. It was just an awesome moment.”
The victory over the Falcons was also the first time the team won a playoff game – and hosted one – since the three-school co-op was formed in 2010.
“It definitely was one of our goals to host a game and to win a game,” Eigenberger said. “It was just an incredible experience. I thought everybody played really well.”
Michael, whose team battled Denmark this past Friday, tied state records for most touchdowns in a game (nine) and most passing TDs (seven) in a win over Random Lake earlier this season.
FYI: The playoff game Friday vs. Denmark came after deadline.
