With a little over two weeks of school complete, the number of COVID cases in Sheboygan County among those age 0-19 was six times higher than last year, according to state Department of Health Services data. There were a total of 144 cases confirmed from Sept. 1 to 17, compared to just 23 over the same period last year. This year 45 were in the 0-9 age group, compared to 5 last year, and 99 age 10-19 this year, compared to 18 last year.
As of Sept. 21, the Sheboygan Area School District’s COVID-19 Dashboard reported 24 total active cases – 19 students and 5 staff. The district has a total student population of 9,741 across 26 schools. SASD COVID Dashboard: https://www.sheboygan.k12.wi.us/families/covid19
