Rylee Brotz will be the lone Sheboygan runner in the Alternate Fall State Championship meet Saturday.
The South junior also qualified for state last season – she played volleyball as a freshman – and ended up 22nd in Wisconsin Rapids.
However, state this season will be held at Blackhawk Golf Course in Janesville.
“I’m not sure what it’s going to be like this year,” Brotz said. “Hopefully it’s not as bad as last year’s, because that one was pretty intense.”
She reached state by finishing the Whitewater Sectional in 23 minutes, 7.4 seconds, good for 13th place.
“It’s kind of weird, but I like to do things I normally do,” Brotz said. “Just getting out and doing sports again. Like my soccer season was cut off sophomore year, so it’s just nice getting back, even if it is different.”
