A U.S. Customs facility is now open at Sheboygan County Memorial Airport
International rrivals could be accepted beginning Monday, April 12.
The Customs facility has been years in the making and is the result of a partnership between Sheboygan County, Kohler Company, and the WI Bureau of Aeronautics.
Both corporate and general aviation aircraft alike will be able to fly directly into Sheboygan County from abroad.
“Kohler Co. is pleased by the news of the upcoming opening of a Customs and Border Patrol office at the Sheboygan County Memorial Airport. The presence of a local CBP office will enhance the attractiveness of international business growth and tourism for the entire area,” said John Kelchen, Director-Aviation, Kohler Co.
“Specifically, a local CBP office will add flexibility and facilitate greater international capability for Kohler Corporate Aviation. As we look forward to the influx of flights in support of the Ryder Cup this September, a local CBP presence will ensure expeditious one-stop clearance for international visitors.”

In addition to the Customs office, the facility is also home to the airport’s new General Aviation terminal and airport administration offices. Pilots and passengers, both foreign and domestic, are able to use the facility for a pit stop, check of the weather, or for meeting friends and family.
The area sees a large influx of international traffic during the summer due to attractions such as Road America and the area’s world class golf courses. “This will streamline international travelers’ access to Sheboygan events,” said a representative from Windway Capital Corp.
The General Aviation side of the building is open to the public 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.
