Sheboygan South’s Laine Thompson will play football at Concordia University Wisconsin next season.
The senior lineman announced the decision early last week, and he says he was also recruited by UW-Oshkosh and Grand View (Iowa).
“Concordia, it just felt like home,” he said. “When I went to go visit, all the coaches were so nice, the players were nice and after walking around and talking to everybody … On the way back, I was talking with my mom and we both decided if felt like home. Somewhere we belong.”
Thompson took part in a group chat with other Concordia recruits around country the other day.
“It started to hit me a little more that I get to play next year and this year is not my last year.”
South – and North – did not play football in the fall and will compete in the spring.
