Coronavirus ruining winter sports, too

First fall sports.

Now winter.

After not playing in the fall, Sheoygan North and South athletic teams will have to wait until at least January to have their first games or meets of the winter season.

Last Tuesday, the Sheboygan Area School District announced virtual learning at all its schools was extended through the end of the first semester.

The district will decide what the sports future holds at its Board of Education meeting next Tuesday.

According to its press release, practice protocols and schedules are being reviewed and revised in order to allow students to participate.

Specific details will be shared and discussed at the Dec. 8 board meeting and communicated to parents after.

As of Friday, the Fox River Classic Conference had conference competitions starting on Jan. 12.

Like fall sports, Christian and Lutheran will play in winter.
