Rose Hahn and Maddie Zylstra each made the all-Big East Conference honorable mention volleyball team.
Hahn, a junior at Lutheran, is an outside hitter who plays all six rotations and also ran on the cross country team.
She still played every set, according to coach Emily Lambrecht, and is one of the team’s hardest workers.
“She was in the gym more often than not,” she said. “Whether it was in the summer or even during the season, she would spend a couple of extra hours per week in the gym getting reps. She is a very powerful front-row player, a stellar server and if there’s any stray ball, she’s hustling for it and trying to get a touch on it. She is a great all-around player.
“She always wants to know how she can be better and what she can do better.”
Zylstra, a senior at Christian, is a middle blocker who spent three-plus seasons on varsity.
She is one of the strongest blockers and hitters on the team, according to coach Erica Warmus, and always gave 100% while encouraging her teammates to do the same.
“She adjusted well and could make a kill out of anything,” she said.
