Falls grad on a roll for A’s

A Sheboygan A’s record almost 35 years old could be in jeopardy.

In 1987, Lee Wetenkamp set the team mark for highest batting average in a season at .454. As of last week, 2017 Falls graduate Ross Krist was batting .467.

“I think it’d be really cool (to break it), especially not having my season in spring,” he said. “It’s just great to finally be playing again.”

Krist, who plays at UW-Platteville, is in position to pass Wetenkamp thanks to a 13-game hitting streak (entering this past weekend’s games) in which he hit .588 during that time.

The second baseman and outfielder says he is having a good approach at plate and is not swinging at any bad pitches.

“And when I have good pitches to hit, I’m not missing them,” he said.
