Lutheran’s boys basketball team remained No. 1 in the
Division 5 WisSports.net state coaches’ poll.
North swept a basketball doubleheader from South by a
total of 60 points on Jan. 12.
The Golden Raiders girls won, 66-23, to hand the Redwings
their 23rd straight loss in the rivalry.
Their boys also won, 73-56, for the seventh consecutive
time against South.
Christian’s boys won their first Big East Conference
basketball game of the season, 60-31, against Elkhart Lake-
Glenbeulah on Jan. 18.
It was the Eagles’ ninth victory in a row over the Resorters,
and they were led by Trevor Wisse’s 18 points.
South’s Trey Klessig finished in third place at 126
pounds in the 21-team North Tournament on Jan. 19.
The Sheboygan co-op hockey team defeated Appleton,
5-1, on Jan. 19 by scoring its second-most goals of the season
after getting shut out the previous two games.
Senior goalie Colin Fessler had 30 saves.
Also on Jan. 19, the Lutheran girls basketball team halted
its seven-game losing streak by beating Hustisford, 43-34,
thanks to 18 points from Emma Egbert.
The Lutheran girls basketball team won back-to-back
games for the first time after beating Christian on Thursday.
